GAMER
Buy a good capsule, friends. This edition sounds great: balance, dynamics, detail. There is no wheezing. Zero "pops", zero static. Very good pressing
Anicasalar
Nirvana Umplugged , come non ascoltarli affascinati questo gran disco . La qualità di questa incisione americana è Audiophile, non posso dire la stessa cosa delle ultime incisioni europee
Carrot
Finally got this one. Didn't compare it yet to the B2B version I had (the remastered April Golden cut) but the whooshing sound on side A is very negligible in the left channel and sounds to me more like a tape issue rather than pressing (just in its sonics, I know it is probably because of the pressing since side B doesn't have it). Only noticeable during quiet parts when putting your ear to high freq speaker (using 3-way stereo system myself). Again with THAT sound quality it's just negligible. No pops or ticks as with my BG Nevermind Pallas copy.
Rivik
My copy is excellent, not a single pop or whooshing or anything bad. Great dynamics too.
Yayrel
Possibly not the best pressing of this album (I haven't heard others) but it is a definite upgrade over the CD version, which itself was pretty good. The record delivers more low end. Worth a buy.
Grarana
My copy does have some pops and crackels also on side A... I can only guess the materials were cheap or something.. I have way older records that are more silent that this one... also volume is way down on this one.. anyway, good songs, a classic live album...
anonymous
I just picked this up and am disappointed at the amount of pops and crackles on side 2. This is after cleaning. I heard some of the left channel whoosh on side 1. I guess the pressed at Pallas in Germany hype is not to be believed. I have loved the album ever since it came out, but am disappointed with the pressing.
Lianeni
Found this at Best Buy for $24! Sounds excellent. Get it while you can.
Dorizius
Sounds amazing, but non-fill/whooshing on side A on a few of the tracks. Can only hear it on the quiet parts though.
Fhois
A few tracks really stand out on this pressing. Very good overall. Also, notice the side-a wooshing, must be something with the lathe or tape machine since the actual vinyl is pressed dead center.
mIni-Like
I can hear the left channel issue as well. Its noticeable but not super distracting. The sound is far superior to my 2008 pressing though. The cover colour reproduction is bootleg quality however.
Binar
I didn't really want to spend the $60+ on the original so I finally broke down and bought this copy and I'm very happy with it. I think I could hear what people were referring to as the whooshing sound in the left channel on side A, but only when I was intently listening for it and next to that speaker. If it wasn't mentioned, I probably wouldn't have noticed it. Otherwise the sound is great with no pops or skips.
Frostdefender
Same issue here with the (slightly, altough noticeable on more quiet parts) woosh on the left channel on Side A. But it still sounds absolutely wonderful.
Wild Python
Unfortunately side A of my copy has a few non-fill spots and a whooshing sound in the left channel. Side B is significantly better, dead quiet and very pleasant to listen to. Wouldn't have expected such issues from Pallas. Anybody else with problems on side A?I also complain a bit that Kurt's head got chopped off in that one picture upper right on the sheet. I think the ORG release had the full picture.
Kulabandis
Hot_Snake - mine is exactly the same. Washed it, and its a little bit better. Side 2 is perfect - so clean. Side 1, About A Girl has nasty surface noise - then for the rest of the side there is intermittent fuzz coming out of the left channel. PISSED!
Eigonn
I have some non fill on my Nevermind Pallas pressing. Nothing major though as it's in beteeen tracks.
Alsalar
Overall sounds good. Great vocals. Anybody feel the base is a little "heavy"? Or maybe that was just the original recording?
Ffan
my new pressing was dirty (fingerprints) and a lot of popping.
Not-the-Same
I'm extremely happy with my Pallas pressing - $25 well spent!
Jeyn
Maybe my needle is getting old, but the "s" sounds on this record are appalling.
Still In Mind
Your needle is getting old. Listen to this on my stereo it is very good. like another version better, but it is very good.
Blackbrand
I just picked this pressing up... I'm wondering about the connection with this pressing and the Original Recordings Group ORG 034 pressings from 2009 & 2011 (which is what I was really hunting for). With ORG 034 crossed out on the vinyl, it makes me wonder if these are basically the same audio-wise as the ORG ones. Can someone with more knowledge about the differences between pressings/ runout etchings/ how these vinyl things get made comment on this? thanks!
Dilkree
So if both were pressed at Pallas, presuming it was the same operator running everything at the same temps/pressures using the same compound, the sound should be extremely similar.
Corgustari
Well in terms of the MASTERING and cutting it's identical, but the pressing house, vinyl quality, etc., will all affect the sound.
Water
RembrandtPussyhorse Do you determine that from the matrix/runouts? I would love to know more about how lacquers/pressing info are derived, I just don't know too much about it. Some runout info do seem to match. On the other hand, this release still needs votes, so not sure if all data are correct. Thanks.
huckman
glurex How it sounds? I´m searching for the best version of this LP and i can´t decide. Thanks! No problem I'm glad to help! It's good to learn the basics. http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/record-player.htm
Darkraven
This release uses the same lacquers that were produced for the ORG reissues so in terms of the sound it's identical.
Lightbinder
