Finally pick up a copy of this and I'm very disappointed. Poor pressing quality, way too quiet even for an LP. Wish I'd saved my money.

Ahhh I have to agree with everyone here that the remastering leaves something to be desired. I presume the source was from cassette rather than the original master tapes. It feels a bit like I'm hearing a warehouse rave from outside 50m away, though I'm guessing this was the best that could be done given source.
Frosha
Dubplate & Mastering remastered it from the "original" VHS cassette. That is the master. So, you "presumed" wrong. All this info is listed below or in the info surrounding the release.

I heard someone's vinyl rip from a defunct file-sharing site, (uh, what was its name again?) ... and well, I have to disagree with some of the commenters and say that I think the remastering isn't bad at all. In fact, it's pretty good, considering the source. However, if you have the cassette or a good MP3 rip thereof, you're not going to be blown away, and the quiet recording level means the little ticks of dust in the groove may well drive you bonkers. I tried, and there's no way to remove the noise with an automatic declicker without hurting the music. The copy I heard was playing about 4.25% too fast. This may have just been the fault of whoever ripped it. Please PM me if you can confirm whether the vinyl really plays this fast, and I'll update this comment as needed. To fix the speed & pitch, I had to use an audio editor to interpret the sample rate at 104.25% of normal and then resample back to the original rate since I don't trust my OS to do it cleanly. At correct speed, durations should be about 9:44, 9:28, 14:10, and 6:20.

whoever remastered this killed itjust played it side by side with the original tape I have, and while there's better high and less "hiss" on the recordthe overall sound is lacking the thickness it has on the original tape - sad!
Bearus
Dubplate & Mastering remastered it. You can never replicate the sound of tape. Vinyl and tape are different. You answer the conundrum yourself. Remove hiss and increase clarity (high) and you lose 'thickness'. You could say that between any vinyl LP and a cassette version. The comments also that it's quiet is answered by the fact it was recorded as an album, not an EP for club play. That is why it's listed as an LP! X

One of the most welcome reissues of recent years... This is evocative primal techno from an era when techno was just beginning to spread its spores. A deeply satisfying trip that was an early indicator of how varied the interpretations of this sound could be.

Quite low pressing and remaster work is so so. Kind of disappointing. But still strong release.

The master came from the original VHS cassette it was recorded too. It was actually remastered twice to get the best sound possible. Note, it's nearly 20 minutes long per side so is an LP, not a 12".

I was waiting like forever for this one. Always wanted the cassette

Mastering hasn't been so perfect, but the tracks are excellent. Very strong the background noise, and quiet :(

The master came from the original VHS cassette it was recorded too. It was actually remastered twice to get the best sound possible and Balb is right, it's nearly 20 minutes long. Note, this is an LP, not a 12" ! X

Mastering was from cassette source, hence background noise. Mastering by D&M was excellent under the circumstances ;) It's quiet because each side is 20 mins long ... it's comparable to an LP in duration so the volume will always be sacrificed in this case.
Marige
It hasn't been because the source is the cassette. There is no master of this.

Good Compilation of PWOG Tracks. First 12 Inch release of "War Chant" - nice! Electronic History of the Netherlands.
